Farm description

3 Flat Acres is a garlic seed farm utilizing organic growing methods in southwest Wisconsin. We specialize in growing garlic for seed and table.

Our garlic varieties range from the unique and hard-to-find to braidable varieties and to those well suited for storage.  They are all delicious!

We currently are working with various garlic varieties and our focus is on acclimatizing these them to the midwestern growing conditions.

All garlic grown at 3 Flat Acres is hand-tended and exceptionally managed to ensure a healthy and robust garlic crop.  We maintain a 3 year crop rotation and we practice intensive management of our cover crops and utilize homegrown compost to continually build and replenish the tilth and fertility of our soil.  All of our growing fields sit fallow in cover crops on the 3rd year for an entire year of rest.

Native plantings and a farm pond restoration are also part of the 3 Flat Acres plan.  In addition to adding to the 3 Flat Acres diversity and beauty, we believe that native plants replenish and restore the farm soil fertility and aid honey bees and beneficial insects which make our organic field plans even stronger.
